Home Remedies for Stretch Marks
Prevention is always the best option. Unfortunately, sometimes we neglect a specific moment of our life and the bad things happen. Stretch marks usually are a result of pregnancy, drastic weight gain, poor nutrition – lack of essential nutrients.
Along with any stretch marks treatment, make sure you eat food rich in vitamins and minerals, especially zinc and vitamins A, E, C.
Remember to treat your vulnerable areas at moments of elevated risk, even though you don’t have stretch marks. It is easier to prevent, than heal!
Cocoa butter stretch marks remedy:
2 tbsps of grated beeswax
1/2 cup of cocoa butter
1 tbsp of apricot kernel oil
1 tbsp of wheat germ oil
1 tbsp of liquid vitamin E
Melt the beeswax in a water bath and add the rest of the ingredients. Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
Shea butter for stretch marks
Shea butter is very rich and is a natural source of the so called skin vitamins A and E. Apply shea butter to the affected areas twice a day.
Stretch marks massage oil with aloe vera gel
Aloe vera is known for its skin softening and healing properties.
Mix the ingredients below and store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
1/4 cup aloe vera gel
1/2 cup of olive oil
1 tsp of liquid vitamin E
1/2 tsp of liquid vitamin A
Pure lard for stretch marks
This may sound disgusting, but lard is one of the oldest stretch marks preventing treatments. It is pure, natural and rich. Makes skin soft and supple like baby skin. The only drawback is its smell, but you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil.
Application for all of the above treatments:
Apply after a bath or shower and allow the skin to absorb the oil before dressing.
Do not forget to exfoliate, massage and moisturize the skin on a regular basis to preserve its elasticity.
